Too Have or too HOLD...

 

It's funny to be able to still feel the weight of them in my arms,

 and always tripping under foot...

I find myself going to the bathroom alone,

 and

calling for them....

I miss the informative conversation.

 funny how they don't want to join me anymore!!?!

I miss there littleness.

Motherhood is still challenging, just in a different way!

I am grateful to be a mom,

there mom.

Who would of thunk it?

look mom...

now, you don't have to yell at me to pick up my clothes off the bathroom floor!

 I was speechless, WHAT do you say to that!???

yes, sometimes Spencer does out think me,

but most of the time,

 I just love that goofy 14 years old boy who has the ability to render me speechless! 

(just for the record...yes, that is underwear and a t-shirt!)

Spencer has been teasing me about "something special" that he was making for me for about a month and a half now...

I was excited cuz I always love those cute crazy ceramic little thingy that they make,

(and yes, I still have all of them that my kids have made over the years)

so, today when he came home and I closed my eyes for my big surprise,

I.was.truly.surprised!!!

it fits me perfectly, I love the pocket, and I absolutely loooove the crooked white stitching!

thank-you Spencer for the sweetest gift given.

So,

a few weeks ago when we were walking around Temple Square looking at the lights,

we walked around the corner

and Spencer said "Look mom, remember when we took our picture by that statue,

let's take another one"!

I thought it was so cute that he remembered,

and that he wanted to have another sweet memory together...

but

it wasn't quite as precious this time around,

as Spencer was only 6 years old last time,

this time, not so much....

he's 13 years old and he's taller than me so he tried squatting down

and right when the flash went off he pulls a face,

and I couldn't help but laugh,

he's always doing things that catch me off guard, and making me giggle.

so yes,

we did make a memory,

just in a different way!!!

...and that's what it's all about,

Spencer's funny...

Caitlyn's funny...

...and i love when they are being funny together!

In the attempt to take family Christmas pictures this year,

it just didn't happen,.....

between my husband and two teenage daughters,

it's been impossible to be all together at the same time!

really.truly.impossible!

but,

today an hour before church was our only window of opportunity,

so,

I asked Arik (my 17 year old nephew) to just start snapping away,

and snap away he did!

After a cazillion pictures....

we did manage to get a handful of useable photos.

but,

between all the ones we can't use...

we had fun, and made some family memories...

long skirt....not so long skirt.

I'm glad we did bright colors cuz look at the lone and dreary world.

practicing for...................the one day................when their princes' will come!

Our Attitude of Gratitude...

Our theme for this month in sacrament mtg. has been

'Gratitude'.

The speakers said a few things that touched my heart....

it seems like I have forgotten to be grateful lately and I really needed to hear what was said....

our bishop stood up at the end of the meeting and encouraged us to make a list of the things we were grateful for, with

sheets of paper or whatever we wanted to use, anything that would work for our family,

(I used a big poster cuz I figured a family of 6,

we should have alot of things to be grateful for....)

the bishop recommended to place it somewhere central where it's very noticable,

so, I went to work and hung it up first thing when I got home

and while we ate our Sunday dinner I explained it to the kids,

they all seemed excited about it,

I just asked everyone to write at least one thing a day,

and then at Thanksgiving we can take down our poster and talk about all the things we have been grateful for.

Being grateful is a commandment and when your happy,

more happiness is added upon you.

and seeing that I've been so sad lately I'm sure this will help us all out of our rut!

my favorite one is;

'I am greatful for edgication'

meanwhile, back at the ranch...

let the dance-off begin!

other than my camera is soo slooow,

that I was about 3 seconds late in trying to

capture all the 'funny as heck' moves...

Cj and Spencer had some pretty tight moves,

Spencer even had names for his... and his signature move was to die for...

Caitlyn has her father's rhythm.... (sorry baby)

it sure is nice to have Candice home again,

dance skills and all!

( it's not the photo, it's the memory that I want to remember!)

is just some good ole' fashion fun!

at least, it was yesterday.
