a funny, well almost!

One day last week, meaning, a few days ago,
on Tuesday....
The oldest one decided she needs to go to the store for some really important stuff!
and for some reason she needed to go right then,
apparently, this stuff was so important to mankind,
that it couldn't wait!
It was around dinner time,
the single most favorite stretch of time in a day,
when everything happens at once....
so, I said what every good mother says,
or should say,
"Dad will be home in a few minutes and he can take you"!
then, just like clock-work,
the youngest two want to go too,
because who, in there right mind, would want to pass up a trip to the local Wal-mart!?!
So, I'm counting down the minutes until pappy arrives home,
because he will take all the kids to the store,
leaving me with some precious alone quiet time!
Quiet time right before dinner time is the best,
your food actually tastes better...
So, then,
the oldest one decides she does not want to go to Wal-mart, or any other store for that matter,
with a 9 and 11 year old little bro and sister,
too embarrassing and this is her time to have some one-on-one time with her dad,
you know,
I totally get where she's coming from,
I always jump at my chance to go by myself with Kurt to the local Wal-mart
or anywhere else!
So,
I sent Caitlyn and Kurt off on there merry way,
but then,
Spencer and Lynzie were beside themselves,
because apparently,
after they had been at school and played outside with friends all day,
they felt like they had been,
and I quote;
"stuck in the house all day"
and it was too much, they were going to die a long miserable death,
if they didn't get out of the house right about then,
(that's about the time I should have pulled out a wooden spoon
and showed them who was boss,
and to give them something to really 'whine' about!)
but, of course, I did the next best thing...
I said "Let go to Wal-Mart and spy on dad and Caitlyn"!
we had 20 minutes to kill, it was a free adventure, and everyone was happy,
(except maybe me,
I could think of a few other things I needed to do)
but, isn't that what motherhood/life/memories are all about!
plus,
what 9 and 11 years old kid doesn't like a good spy adventure!)
so, we're off,
we park by Kurt's truck,
and talk the whole way over of how we are going to carry out our plans,
our super secret spy mission...
we enter the store and in no time at all, we discover there whereabouts,
the excitement is building!
We follow them around the store,
Spencer is a little bravery then us and actually walks down the aisles,
Lynzie and I hide in the clothes racks,
We swear they see us because they look right at us several times!
Then, they're ready to check out,
and I get this excellent idea!.....
while we are here, we might as well get some of my favorite Easter candy,
Hersey's chocolate eggs,
(I only wait all year for them!)
it would be foolish not to get some, since we are there already!!!!
So, we grab some, but now we have to get them into Kurt's shopping card
because I didn't bring in my wallet,
So, Spencer, don't ask me how....
goes up to the check out and waits and waits and waits,
until the time is right,
then, when a lady walks by and no one is looking
he tosses them over and they land in the cart,
right by the milk!!!!
Mission accomplished, folks, we will soon be eating Chocolate candy eggs!
life is good,
because I have no doubt when Caitlyn and Kurt finally see the eggs,
they will be like,
Oh, these are mom's favorites,
lets get them for mom and surprise her,
(they're so good to me like that!)
So, we maneuver ourselves out to the car,
the whole time we can see them,
but they can't see us....
and I'm feeling really happy and accomplished,
Caitlyn got her important stuff,
Spence and Lynzie got out of the house,
and I even benefited after all with a little treat!
I love when everything works out.
But,
they catch up to us at the stop-light and beat us home,
it's a race to see who could get in the house first!
It was such a fun little adventure,
everyone was laughing and happy as we related our spy stories,
everyone laughed even harder (except me) when we realized
they didn't buy the eggs!
I repeat, they did not buy the chocolate eggs,
when they saw them in the cart they thought they were the ladies behind them,
because after all,
they.didn't.put.them.there.!

It was funny last night when the girls each wanted to go to the other's house.
